    Deborah brings over two decades of professional writing experience, specializing in medical, health, and business, including insurance and supply chain. Prior to writing, she investigated medical malpractice claims for a doctor-owned insurance company and managed interactive voice response tools for healthcare clinical trials.

    She is an active member of the Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ) and the American Society of Journalists and Authors (ASJA). For both organizations, she has organized and spoken on conference panels and judged awards. For ASJA she has also served as a structural task force member, and is currently the advocacy chair on freelancer issues. She received the Exceptional Service Award in 2021 for her advocacy work.

    In her reporting and writing, Deborah strives to tell people’s stories accurately and compassionately. Her writing makes even mundane topics interesting. Deborah’s goal is for anyone reading her work to learn something new.
